Frequently Asked Questions

How many other weddings will be booked that day?

No other events will be scheduled during your contracted time. Use of the grounds is for your exclusive use.

What are the dimensions of the Covered Bridges?

One is 44’ x 16’, and the second one is 44’ x 22’

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes, we do.

Is there on-site lodging?

We do offer a honeymoon suite to the newly-married couple. Other bedrooms on the property are reserved for the bridal parties on the day of the wedding. Depending on the size of your wedding party, we can help you take advantage of off-site lodging options in and around Murphy if you have chosen this as a destination wedding site.

Do you require clients to use vendors from an approved list?

No. We can offer you a list of providers with whom we have had successful relationships, as a way to make your search a little easier, but you are welcome to use any vendor you wish at no added charge from us.

Are rentals included in your services?

We include tables, linens, and chairs to accommodate the guests.  We are happy to provide sound equipment and decorating services for additional fees.

What restrictions do you have of guests?

For liability reasons, we ask that no pets be brought on the property. We also do not allow wish lanterns. Children should be closely supervised at all times.

Do you have access to electric?

Yes, both covered bridges have multiple outlets with 30 amp service, as does the gazebo and Rockface Garden. We can also provide low-decibel generators to other sites on the property you wish to access.

What if it rains on my wedding day?

Both bridges can be utilized. One can serve as a ceremony site, the other for your wedding reception. We also have several 12’ x 12’ tents that can be put into service in such an emergency.  Large groups may want to rent additional tents.

Is there a space for a cocktail hour?

With over 20 acres of pasture, there is plenty of space for whatever activities you want to plan.

How long do we have at the wedding venue?

You will have access to the grounds at noon on Friday for set-up and for your rehearsal. You have all day Saturday for your event, and removal of all personal and vendor equipment must be made by Monday at noon.

Are there any noise restrictions?

Cherokee County ordinance requires noise reduction at 11:00pm.

What’s the difference between an on-site host and a wedding coordinator?

Our on-site host is to liaison with your vendors, accept deliveries, and to help direct vendors to the location you have chosen for them to set up. By contrast, a wedding coordinator is hired for the day of the wedding and will make sure that everyone is following the timeline that’s been established.  Our on-site host service is included in the estate fee.  We would be happy to provide day-of coordination for a small additional fee.

Can the wedding party get ready at the venue?

Absolutely. We have a two bedroom, two bath cottage that serves as our “Groom’s Quarters.”   In the main house on the estate, there are 3-bedroom, 3-bath luxurious accommodations reserved as our “Bridal Suite.”

Is there a discount for an off-season date or weekdays?

No events are held at Covered Bridge Farms during the off-season.  Services during with week can possibly be adjusted on an individual basis.
